Learn more about some of the unsung heroes of Women’s History with this creative project where learners design trading cards!
Description
This project is a win-win! Students (approximate ages 3rd grade-8th grade) get to practice research skills and display it in a creative way by designing a trading card for some women who accomplished some great things but may not be as well-known! Use this as a project or activity for Social Studies or Language Arts to celebrate Women’s History Month any month!
I included women of multiple cultural backgrounds from a variety of fields throughout multiple time periods. Many of these women had to overcome adversity to be successful. Help students use the achievements of these great women as inspiration to follow their dreams!
This includes a teacher tip sheet, structured and open-ended student direction page, blank template, answer key, and sample grading rubrics.
The following women are included:
1) Marla Runyan
2) Gerda Lerner
3) Dr. Chien-Shiung Wu
4) Shirley Temple
5) Claudette Colvin
6) Indra Nooyi
7) Zora Neale Hurston
8) Shirley Temple
9) Abigail Adams
10) Rosemary Casals
